'Tis the Season blog hop

I've really gotten into some of the more simplistic cards.
You know the old sayings ..."too much of a good thing...
is too much"
or "less is more".
I think that's true sometimes.
I think so much can be conveyed by a tiny little accent.

Much like the tiny glitter heart I added coming out of the chimney....
and the tiny pearl that looks like a small snow ball that was left behind at the last snowball fight.

Card Recipe:
Sahara Sand and whisper white card stock.
Baked brown sugar and Black staz-on ink pads.
Life's Adventures, Lovely as a Tree and Endless Wishes Stamp sets.
White Embossing powder.

Pretty basic stamping, a little fussy cutting and tearing of paper.
The real WOW factor for this card is the snow.

I used Lovely as a Tree to create the trees in the background then
I gave the card base a light dusting of white embossing powder.....
simply sprinkled it on using a pinch at a time.
Yep,  you read it right ......I didn't apply anything to the card base to hold the powder before sprinkling it.
Now you ask, "how do you keep the heat gun from blowing all the powder away?"
Well, let me tell you....
You use the heat gun on the underside of the card stock until you see that it has adhered to the paper and then you can finish it up on the top side.
Let it cool and add more here and there if you like.

Then finish putting it all together.

Don't forget to hop along to see all the loveliness that is in store
by all the other wonderful creators!!!!!

Wondrous!!!!

I recently purchased the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and the matching die set.

I have seen sooooo many beautiful ideas for Christmas cards using it and my intention was to start making our Christmas cards this year.

I was playing around in the studio the other day and thought
why does it have to be the
traditional colors....you know ...greens and reds.?.?.

Then I remembered I have a couple of baby cards to make and it hit me like a dirty diaper.....
I know, bad visual.....Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Why couldn't it be a welcoming wreath for a baby?
Sooooooooooo.........

Some of the deets of the card.

Supplies:
Wondrous Wreath set I spoke of on the top of the post.
Cardstock - whisper white & Crisp Cantaloupe.
Crisp Cantaloupe ink pad (stamped 1st & 2nd generation on the wreath)
Retro Fresh washi tape
Little letters framelits (for the word 'BABY')
Self adhesive pearls
Dimensionals

Blog hop newness.....

Newness from the NEW Holiday catalog.

So much goodness to see in the catty......I just know you will want all of it.
I DO!!!!  Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Below is an example of some of the goodness that I just couldn't wait to play with.

It's the new Four Feathers stamp set with coordinating dies.

LOVE IT!!!

I used the colors of ink pads.....Cajun Craze, Coastal Cabana and Sahara Sand.
Used the dies to cut out the feathers.
I wanted some additional dimension...so I used a layer of Whisper White and punched the feathers and flipped the paper over so the curve of the feathers would go in the opposite direction.
Stamped a sentiment from Choose Happiness stamp set.
Used some Chevron ribbon and then added dimensionals on everything.

Hope you enjoy the hop and check out the new catty for great ideas and goodies to buy!!!!

We're hoppin' with a BIG SHOT!!!

This Big Shot!!!!!

Yep, I use it just about every time I work in my studio.  It is sooooo versatile.
You can emboss, thinlits, framelits, big dies....just about anything.

Don't forget to check out the August special from Stampin' Up!
featuring the Big Shot!!!

Click here to take you to purchase the bundle.

Through August 31, get an exclusive Framelits and Stamp Set Bundle for FREE when you purchase a Big Shot. Or, if you already own a Big Shot, get a 15 percent discount on these select bundles.

Today's card shows a few teckies I saw online.

The first teckie that I wanted to try was the bubble window.
There is a bubble thinlit set available through Stampin' Up! that I really need to purchase....
especially with the Big Shot special going on right now.
I used the large oval punch first and then used the star from the Circle card thinlit and my Big Shot with the magnetic plate to create the point for the large bubble window.

Then I Black embossed the robot from Boys will be boys clear stamp set.
I colored the image with Coastal Cabana ink pad, Basic Gray ink pad and an Aqua Painter.
I created a frame using a Basic Gray marker and the random dots with the Basic Gray
and Coastal cabana marker.
I placed the layer on top of the card base to see the area I need to add the sentiment and color the background.  Removed the layer and heat embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder then colored the area with Coastal Cabana over top of the sentiment.
Used dimensionals to place the layer onto front of the card base.

(Inside: black embossed)

Love how this turned out....great dimension.

U S A ...... celebrate today!!!

Let's celebrate 'cause we are having a hop!!!!

I tried to do the traditional red, white and blue colors......
but I just couldn't wrap my head around a design.

But I did stay with the USA theme.

The new poly stamp set called "Calling all Heroes" was callin' ME!!!!

I wanted it to look more spectacular than just a simple card sooooooo....

............. I made an easel card.

Deets of some of the items on the card:

I used watercolor paper to create the sunset sky with Real Red and So Saffron using my water brush.
White embossed the stars on So Saffron card stock and fussy cut them out. Used a small piece of window sheet to help the stars stay in the sky.
Stamped the skyline with Basic Gray and fussy cut it out.
The "USA" stars were simply stamped and then fussy cut.
Added some dimensionals to the stars create the "stop" for the easel.
Added a sentiment from a hostess set....called "Life's Adventure"

Click on the "NEXT" button below to get back to the beginning where DIANA started it all.

In case you get blinded by all the spectacular creations you can get back on
track with the list below.

June Blog Hop

Glad that you could join us for this months hop.

You will lots of new and exciting things.

I don't have any new products to show you, but I have a new technique that
I'm sure you will love to learn how to do.

Can you guess from the pic what the technique is???

Well, can ya????

Hmmmmmmmm.......

That isn't DSP you are looking at.
I created it with a new tecky idea called Bandana stamping.
I {heart} this new tecky.

Here are the deets:
I chose Coastal Cabana card stock.
Used Coastal Cabana classic ink and chose a line design stamp from
Mosaic Madness and stamped randomly.
Then I chose a few more stamps from the same set and
stamped them with Black Staz-On, again randomly.
Using a Signo white gel pen, I added some dots and lines....and
waaa-laaaa I have a bandana.

It would be hard to wear this bandana so I made a card instead.....Bwahahahahahahahaha!

I stamped the chair from The Great Outdoors using Baked Brown Sugar ink and then stamped the
sentiment from Really Good Greetings with Coastal Cabana ink.
I made the bow with the 3/4" punch and the bird punch (trimmed a little).

Hope you liked this new tecky idea!!!!
I know I will be using it again and again.!!!!

Here are the list of blogs for more great ideas!!!
(and in case you get lost along the way)

Spring & hop......spring & hop!!!

I love spring time....everything is fresh and new.
Everything comes alive and blossoms.

Can you guess I made a springtime card?
Yep, my Mama passed away in 1984 and she is missed dearly!!!!
I digress.....back to my card.

I wanted to use Gingham Garden DSP because it just screams SPRING to me.
You are seeing front and back of the same piece of DSP....is that not delightful.

I also used So Saffron card stock for a layer and I distressed it.
I stamped the coffee cup from Perfect Blend (The cup is two pieces....I stamped the lid section and flipped it upside down to create the inside of the cup with water in it), the flower from Happy Watercolors and
the greeting from Really Good Greetings clear stamp set with Black Staz-on.
I colored all the images (very lightly) using the ink pads: Baked Brown Sugar and
Strawberry Slush and my aqua painter.

I love how this turned out...it reminds me of
when my kids were little
and they would bring me the first flower (or weed) they found outside and I
would always take it to work and put it on my desk in my office.
Most of the time I didn't have a vase so I would just use a coffee cup.
It was more gorgeous than even the most beautiful bouquets
from a high end florist.

Here is the list of beautiful flowers you need to see in this hop
in case you get lost.  I'm the caboose, but you may want
to go back and see them again....right?

This is what I came up with.

Here is a list of supplies:
